Anecdote:
Falling far behind on the trail, I decided to take a detour of the rest of the forest. Familiarize myself with my surroundings, you know? After all, I would be spending the night with my fellow scouts in the dreary woods. As I strolled down the foggy dirt grounds, I heard some noise: rustling bushes, to be more exact. I ignored it, believing my mind was playing games with me. Sometime later on during my expedition, someone started calling out my name. "John, John, JOHN." I thought it might be Chief Dave, who insisted that we stay together at all times. As, I began making my way towards my group of scout boys, I came across a very interesting leaf, one that I thought I can add to my collection of interesting things. This leaf, it seemed, had some black marks imprinted on the side. I looked closer to see what it said and even though it was almost illegible, I had been able to make out the words on it: FOLLOWS. Right next to that word seemed to be a little drawing of a tall figure in a suit. I could not believe what I saw. I tried to convince myself over and over again that it was some creep from the group trying to play a prank on me. It was probably Willy. He ALWAYS liked to play pranks on me because, according to him, I am the "wimpiest" of the group. I began to walk away from the leaf and began to jog and slowly, but surely, broke out into a full-on sprint. I looked back to see if anyone was following me and, surprisingly, the coast was clear. As I came to a complete stop to catch my breath, I saw something in the distance. I squinted my eyes to make out whatever I saw. All I remember was him, standing there. Staring at me with no face. I quickly closed my eyes to save myself from this nightmare. I pinched and poked myself to make certain that it was nothing but a terrible dream. Suddenly, I jumped up at the feel of a hand on my shoulder. It was Chief Dave. Asking why I had ventured off, Chief Dave was unable to realize that I wasn't paying attention to him. At all. The hairs on my arms had risen, while my mouth stood numb with words that were unwilling to spill out. All I could do at that moment, was stare into the distance where the man, with only a suit and no face, had been standing.
